How do you tune your WHOLE electric guitar down a whole step and a quarter?

Question by Hail Metal!!!: How do you tune your WHOLE electric guitar down a whole step and a quarter?
I am new to guitar playing (just picked it up a month ago) and own a Dean Razorback DB electric guitar. I am attempting to recreate the sound/tune (THE SOUND not his playing, I AM A NEWBIE so I know I can’t achieve his skill level just yet) needed to play Dimebag Darrell’s songs with Pantera.

I am not a Heavy Metal player. However, I understand that Dimebag Darrell played mainly in what is called “Drop D Tuning”, which is DADGBE. If you don’t understand what I mean by that, you have no business trying to utilize alternate tunings. Since you are a “newbie”, you should really not be attempting alternate tunings before you even know how to properly play your instrument. It is counter-productive to your goal of being able to play like him. Learn how to play. THEN, learn how to play like your heroes.

ok so this kid kyle and me disagree about this….i say Yngwie Malmsteen may have a huge ego and all…but he is wayyyyy better at guitar then dimebag darrel (for those of you who dont know names spacificly dimebag was the guitarist of pantera) but kyle says malmsteen is a terrrible guitarist and that dimebag is way better…now dont get me wrong..pantera for life…r.i.p dimebag….but when it comes to guitar be honest…whos better?

yay a cool question…. Malmsteen! all the way cause he makes record just of him playing guitar pieces and dimebag had vocals and a band to back him up (although yngwie sings a little on some records). also dimebag did not know have as much theroy as yngwie…. Malmsteen is a virtouso and dimebag isnt… dont get me wrong dimebag is amazing but yngwie has speed and technique all over darrel

Dimebag is a decent guitarist, I cannot stand Phil Anselmo on vocals though I am more of a pre black album Metallica guy or Judas Priest. Pantera is far from an awsome band.

I really prefer metal because I’m a real metalhead and unlike popstars, metal musicians actually have talent especially people like Dimebag Darrell from Pantera (RIP), Lemmy Kilminister from Motorhead, Kirk Hammett from Metallica and Dave Mustaine from Megadeth.
